Taking the Leap

The reality is, I’ve had my travel bag packed since before Christmas. For the “just in case” scenario of another snap lockdown or change of rules at international border control. I wanted to be ready to move, this luckily didn’t happen, so I had time to spend prepping before I do finally head off.

Some of this time spent, has been mapping out that worthy goal, rebuilding the band, the people you choose to bring along with you, practising ways to stay focussed. I’ll be taking that first step again on the 6th of March as I fly to India to reconnect to the place is like a second home.

Last weekend I spent time with my kids and their friends, watching them rock climb, water ski and wake board. Watching them as small gangs, made me think about how wobbly and uncertain it feels when you leap, taking those first baby step. It’s super wobbly, uncomfortable and then you find your balance, you’re off and running, feeling so good about it, with your team cheering you on.

Those wobbly starts

Off and running

I’m feeling a bit wobbly right now, as I count down the days, towards my first book launch on the 4th March and first international flight in two years. The good news is those wobbly moments don’t last long as your cross that threshold, the key is to have your band in place, the ones that are there to travel with you.

Our first Indian adventure, will be heading out on the road to visit the locals in Jaipur, source some new goodies, meet new faces, listen to stories, we will be here, there and everywhere, a bit like a kid in candy shop, my eyes won’t know where to look. Here are some of the new prints being developed for the next seasons, a bit like travelling so many beauties, so little time to do it all.

Beautiful fabrics, such little time

I have to go now and check my packing, triple check I have done all the necessary international admin to pass security, prep myself for the next leap. Hug my kids a few more times. Check with my Famous Five (Naudic HQ team) “will you be alright without me?” I think I can hear their sign of relief.

Looking forward to writing a bit more as the next journey unfolds. Thanks for being here with me.
